Traditional Hardware or Houdini Hardware TM ?
T raditional hardware is the term used for standard “barn door” installation hardware. The door hangs from a metal rail mounted on the wall and 100% of the weight of the door is supported from this rail. The rail and door rollers are visible, and are available in a variety of roller designs and in 2 finishes — black and stainless steel. Houdini hardware is completely hidden from view. No wall- mounted rail is necessary. The weight of the door is 100% on the floor, as wheels are mounted on the bottom of the door. A support track is mounted on the upper backside face of the door, and this track follows a wall mounted support that keeps the door upright and attached to the wall.
The door offerings in this catalog each note if Traditional or Houdini hardware may be used.
