1. Preparation - 1. Remove the existing interior door from the opening, including hinges and latch strikes. 2. Remove any bumpers, pads, or accessories attached to the existing interior jamb. 3. Verify that the existing interior jambs are plumb and level. 4. Shimming may be required to ensure proper fit of the metal door unit. 2. Verify Opening Size - The GlassCraft Modern Steel Interior Door is engineered for fast, hassle-free replace- ment of an existing 2’6” or 2’8” interior door—no demolition required. Simply remove your existing door slab and hinges while leaving the original door frame in place. The Modern Steel Door arrives fully assembled and ready to install. Insert the plastic jamb leg plugs into the bottom of each jamb leg and trim as needed to achieve the exact height for your opening. Once adjusted, stand the frame upright and slide it into the existing door frame.
1. Measure the width of the opening between the existing interior jambs at the top, middle, and bottom. 2. Confirm the opening width matches the metal interior unit. 3. Measure the height of the opening from the finished floor to the inside of the header on both left and right sides. 4. Confirm the opening height matches the metal interior unit. Secure the steel frame with the supplied fasteners, then hang the door on the pre-installed pin hinges. That’s it— a sleek, modern steel door installed quickly and easily.
