REMOVING THE EXISTING DOOR 1
1. Remove the strike plate, hinges, and any remaining hardware or accessories that could interfere with installation. 2. Once all hardware has been removed, carefully remove the existing interior door. 3. Make sure the opening is completely clear before continuing.

C. Make certain the steel door measurements will fit within the existing doorway measurements.
CONFIRM THE OPENING SIZE 2
1. With the existing door removed, measure the width and height of the opening.
2. Confirm that the DesignCra Steel Interior Door will fit properly before beginning installation.

UNPACK AND REMOVE THE DOOR FROM THE FRAME 3
1. Carefully remove all packaging. 2. For safety, GlassCra strongly recommends two people for this step. Damage that occurs during installation is not covered by the product warranty. 3. With one person supporting each side, carefully position the door with the hinges facing upward.
4. Open the door approximately 90 degrees. 5. Carefully li it away from the steel frame.

B. Li the door upwards to disengage from the barrel hinges.

ADJUSTING THE FRAME HEIGHT & BOTTOM FRAME PLUGS 4
1. Before installing the frame, the bottom frame plugs may need to be trimmed to properly fit the opening. 2. Keep in mind that existing floors may not be perfectly level. The le and right frame plugs may require di erent amounts of trimming. This is normal. 3. Position each frame plug beside the opening, as shown. This will indicate how much material needs to be removed. 4. Mark the cut location, then label each plug L for Le and R for Right to keep them matched to the correct side. 5. Apply masking tape around the cutting area to help protect the finish, then carefully trim the plug to size. 6. Repeat this process on the opposite side. 7. Once both plugs have been trimmed and test-fitted, install them into the bottom of the frame.
3. Position each frame plug beside the opening.
4. Mark the cut location, then label each plug.

INSTALLING THE STEEL FRAME 5
1. Position the steel frame inside the opening and center it within the existing jamb. 2. Using the frame openings as guides, drill pilot holes into the jamb, starting on the hinge side and working around the frame. 3. Secure the frame from top to bottom with the provided screws, checking alignment as you work.
4. Leave the fasteners slightly loose at first to allow for minor adjustments. 5. Use a level to confirm the frame is plumb vertically and level across the top. 6. Make sure the frame stays centered and is not twisted, bowed, or pulled out of alignment. 7. Once properly positioned, fully tighten all fasteners. 8. Perform a final check for plumb, level, and proper alignment. 9. Insert shims as needed between the steel frame and existing jamb for proper support.

REINSTALLING THE DOOR
1. GlassCra recommends two people when reinstalling the door. 2. With one person supporting each side, carefully li the door above the hinge pins. 3. Align the hinges and slowly lower the door into position. 4. Once the door is fully seated on the hinges, carefully swing it open and closed to confirm smooth operation. 5. Install the provided cover plugs into the remaining frame screw access holes, as shown, for a clean, finished appearance.

5. Install the cover plugs in.

INSPECT THE INSTALLATION
1. Before moving forward, inspect the door and frame carefully. 2. Check for uneven gaps, misalignment, rubbing, or anything that could prevent the door from opening and closing properly. 3. Make any necessary adjustments before continuing.

HANDLE IDENTIFICATION Lay out all components and identify the interior and exterior handles.

Remove the screws from the handle standoffs.
Thread the standoffs into the appropriate handle and tighten them securely.
Align the spindle dimple with the corresponding opening, as shown.
Insert the assembled spindle into the exterior handle. Do not insert the spindle completely into the handle. Position it approximately halfway in, as shown.

Final assembly should appear as shown.
From the exterior, the handle should have a clean face with no exposed mounting screws.
From the interior, the mounting holes will remain visible for fastening.
Position both handles on opposite sides of the door and confirm alignment.

Now secure the handles together.
Insert the two standoff screws from the interior side & tighten them into the standoffs. Use a screwdriver. Repeat for the second fastener.
Install the handle set screw. Tighten the set screw to secure the handle to the spindle.
Test both handles for proper operation.
INSTALLING THE COVER STRIPS 9
1. Trim excess shims below the steel frame. 2. Measure and trim the top and both vertical cover strips to fit as needed. 3. Clean the frame and jamb surfaces to remove dust and debris. 4. Remove the backing, align the top horizontal strip, and press firmly into place. 5. Remove the backing, align both vertical strips beneath the top strip, and press firmly into place. 6. Apply even pressure along all three strips and confir they are secure and flush. Installation is complete.
