3. Unpacking and Door Removal - Steel Interior Pre-Hung Doors * Modern Steel Design * Ready to Install
1. With two people, remove the metal interior unit from the packaging. 2. Securely stand or lay the unit flat on a fully supported surface with the hinges facing up/outward. 3. Open the door to 90 degrees and disengage the half-barrel hinges by lifting the door upward. 4. Remove the metal door from the frame and place the door in a safe, protected location. A. Open the door 90 degrees.
B. Lift the door upwards to disengage from the barrel hinges.
C. Remove the door from the frame.
4. Adjusting Frame Height - Replace Your Interior Door in Just 10 Minutes! The GlassCraft Modern Steel Interior Door is engineered for fast, hassle-free replace- ment of an existing 2’6” or 2’8” interior door—no demolition required. Simply remove your existing door slab and hinges while leaving the original door frame in place. The Modern Steel Door arrives fully assembled and ready to install. 1. Insert the (2) supplied plastic plugs into the bottom of the metal frame. 2. Using the measured jamb height, measure down from the top of the metal frame and mark the plastic plugs. 3. Allow an additional 1/16” clearance to prevent an overly tight fit 4. Cut the plastic plugs by hand using a hacksaw to the required length. 5. Reinsert the trimmed plastic plugs into the bottom of the metal frame. Insert the plastic jamb leg plugs into the bottom of each jamb leg and trim as needed to achieve the exact height for your opening. Once adjusted, stand the frame upright and slide it into the existing door frame. Secure the steel frame with the supplied fasteners, then hang the door on the pre-installed pin hinges. That’s it— a sleek, modern steel door installed quickly and easily.
